Memorandum of mutual cooperation with the Association of Hoteliers and Restaurateurs
On April 5, 2022, in accordance with the work plan of the Competence Center for the “Catering Organization” specialty, a regional webinar was held on the topic “Implementation of modern teaching methods and IT technologies in theoretical and practical training”. The target audience included subject teachers and industrial training masters of specialty 10130300 “Catering Organization”.
The webinar was conducted by:
- Zuev A.V. | industrial training master | “CLIL methodology within the BOPPPS lesson structure”.
CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) is an approach where a subject is taught in a language that is not the learners’ native language.
CLIL planning is based on four components:
CONTENT — development of subject knowledge and skills;
COMMUNICATION — use of language for learning and interaction;
COGNITION — development of thinking and analytical skills;
CULTURE — fostering intercultural awareness and understanding.
The BOPPPS lesson planning model was also presented:
Bridging-in — motivation and engagement;
Objectives/Outcomes — learning goals and expected results;
Pre-assessment — evaluation of prior knowledge;
Participatory learning — active learning activities;
Post-assessment — evaluation and reflection;
Summary — consolidation of learning outcomes.
Examples of lesson planning for theoretical and practical classes in the “Catering Organization” specialty were demonstrated.

Kahoot is a widely used platform for quizzes, tests and educational games. It enhances lesson effectiveness and student engagement. Both free and paid versions are available; the webinar focused on the free version.
Process:
— students install the Kahoot app;
— register in the system;
— enter the game PIN;
— answer questions via smartphones;
— results are ranked (top 1–3).
The platform is suitable for both individual and group activities.

Padlet is an online board that allows users to post materials, images, files and comments. It is an effective tool for organizing educational resources in one place. The service is free, multilingual and has no limitations on users or boards.
During the webinar, participants actively asked questions, shared their experience using digital platforms, exchanged links and discussed practical applications of IT tools in education.
The webinar was conducted at a high methodological level in a discussion-based format. Participants enriched their teaching toolkit with modern technologies and innovative approaches aimed at enhancing students’ professional development.
